Fondation Mérieux's mission is to fight infectious diseases affecting developing countries by enhancing local capacities. It is an independent family foundation with official charitable status.
It has four main areas of action:

With the support of Fondation Christophe et Rodolphe Mérieux, under the guidance of the Institut de France, it develops a network of training and applied research laboratories in the field, at the heart of developing countries.
