Madagascar

Improvement of the detection of new contagious pulmonary TB cases in remote areas:

  • Support in setting up 40 tuberculosis treatment centres;

  • Training of 100% of the centres staff;

  • Support in setting up of 80 developed collection stations.

Ethiopia

Better detection and fllow-up of persons living in rural areas:

  • 2280 new cases have been diagnosed in 2009;

  • 94% of patients are diagnosed during the first 3 months of infection;

  • 92% recovery rate and 5% mortality rate.

HIV

Laos

  • Introduction of viral load by the Christophe Mérieux Centre for the therapeutic follow-up of persons living with HIV.

    On 30 April 2010, 378 samples (378 patients) were received at the Centre of Infectiology Christophe Mérieux. Women represent 43% of all subjects.
