The donation of funds ceremony for the Mahosot hospital
Mahosot Hospital
Fondation Mérieux wanted to be part of the project to improve the quality of care provided by the Mahosot hopistal, the largest hospital in the capital of Laos.
The Foundation therefore financed the purchase of medical analysis equipement, one for hemocultures and the other for bacteria identification.
Thakhek Hospital
The Foundation supported Thakhek Hospital (northern Laos) by refurbishing completely the facility’s biology laboratory.
This hospital has been receiving support from the Rhône-Alpes Region and the NGO ACFL for many years. Thanks to the quality of the staff and the infrastructures, it is a model hospital. The laboratory staff are qualified to a high level and are genuinely motivated.
A new medical testing laboratory was built in 2008. Inaugurated in February 2009, this laboratory can now serve the need of a large population reservoir and develop according to the changing needs.
