Training Health Workers

A shortage of qualified healthcare staff…Sub-Saharan Africa: 3% of worldwide healthcare staff
In response to the shortage of qualified health personnel in developing countries and to improve professional know-how, Fondation Mérieux organizes scientific and technical training for scientific experts, laboratory personnel, medical students…
Held in the field (for exemple in Burkina Faso, Senegal or Mali thanks to the programme RESAOLAB) or at Les Pensières Conference Centre, the training covers vaccinology, diagnosis, epidemiology or clinical biology laboratory management and techniques.
The Foundation has also developed a portal for scientific information and e-learning, GLOBE (Global Link for Online Biomedical Expertise) .
GLOBE aims to train and facilitate networking between scientists and healthcare professionals from developing and industrialized countries and provide operational solutions to questions that arise in their daily practice.
