The aim of this conference is to discuss benefits that result from successful vaccination programmes with a specific focus on ‘herd immunity / protection’.
The methodological approaches to measure of ‘herd immunity / protection’ will be discussed as well as the approaches to infectious diseases modelling, including the importance of the ‘herd immunity / protection’ in the economic analysis of vaccines. The ‘herd immunity / protection’ will be discussed in the context of several vaccines (case studies). The importance of the ‘herd immunity / protection’ in decision making will also be considered. Finally, examples of ‘herd protection’ in the context of non-vaccine interventions will be also be presented and discussed.
This conference will bring together vaccinologists, epidemiologists, immunologists, veterinarians, health economists, and decision makers to present the different aspects of the ‘herd immunity / protection’ and discuss their different perspectives.
