Professor Ogobara Doumbo, who passed away in June 2018, was the director of the Malaria Research and Training Center (MRTC) in Bamako, Mali
He is recognized throughout the world as being an eminent specialist in the field of malaria research. He has been published over 70 times in the most respected scientific journals.
It was at his initiative that the MRTC was set up in 2003 as a regional center of excellence for the Association of Francophone Universities and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States.
