Looking at the subject of improving the care and treatment of viral hepatitis patients, the three-day seminar convened key specialists in chronic viral infections.
Eighty health professionals and researchers from Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Mongolia and France participated in the symposium. It was organized into six sessions, covering hepatitis B and C screening and patient care, which are major public health challenges in Southeast Asia.
The event confirmed the interest for these countries to share their experiences and compare data, resources and developments in the area of hepatitis.
After four workshops organized for Laotian clinicians between 2012 and 2014, the broader scale of this edition lays the foundation for a regional network on chronic hepatitis.
